The PCM used by Pelma absorb, retain and release heat so as to obtain optimum control of humidity and temperature, but when this one rises and exceeds, first 28°C and then 35°C, they melt accumulating heat that is extracted from the human body lying on the mattress. Similarly, when the temperature drops, the material solidifies and gives off heat.
